It was like a late Christmas this morning when I logged on to my computer and found my email inbox sprinkled with offers from Groupon and Seize the Deal touting half off the Dallas SuperBash 2011, hosted by Pamela Anderson, and the Aces & Angels bash, hosted by Gene Simmons and wife Shannon Tweed.
Woo-hoo.
Seize the Deals offers one ticket for the Aces & Angels bash on Wednesday, February 2nd for $237.50 That's half off the $475 ticket price.
The party at Fair Park's Centennial Hall will honor more than 500 wounded soldiers from Afghanistan and Iraq. It will "feature four hours of live music from Five for Fighting, Little Texas, Rival Sons and The Grascals. Try your luck at a variety of fun casino games and watch the Texas State Poker Championships. Witness the unveiling of Gene Simmons' custom motorcycle, and tantalize your taste buds with the Taste of Texas buffet. Wash all that down with a premium open bar and you've got one incredible party!"
Popular coupon site Groupon is offering half off of a VIP ticket to the Dallas SuperBash 2011 at the Fashion Industry Gallery on Friday, February 4th. Face value $500, yours for $250. What's so VIP about the ticket? I'm not sure.
Groupon says the Pamela Anderson hosted event will lure "revelers with an open bar and celebrity-studded guest list. Guests are invited to enjoy a Bacardi-sponsored open bar all night, dance amid a shifting barrage of lights ill-suited for performing surgery, and scout out a clearer vantage point of NFL stars and celebrities. Unlike a celebrity wax museum, VIP admission welcomes patrons as surrogate members of the glitterati, letting them peruse the venue and relish cocktails on the celebrity-spangled level or the general-admission level."
Ok, I can tell you from experience, most of the parties that tout "CELEBRITIES GALORE" get a d-list reality show star and a practice squad spare here and there. So if you plan on doing some first class jocksniffing and people watching, you might be disappointed. I do know that Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed will be at the Aces & Angels event. In fact, they've already received a key to the city of Dallas.
Are you going to any Super Bowl XLV parties? Who are you most looking forward to seeing?
